Philosophy of Discipline

The school, home, and church must be parallel in disciplinary outlook for moral training to be effective in the life of a young person. Philosophy and practice based on the Word of God are the basis for TCS standards.

Because of the school's Christian testimony, use of coarse or vulgar language, and practices detrimental to a Christian's character, such as use of tobacco, alcohol, narcotics, etc. are not permitted on or off campus.  Social dancing presents potential problems to the Christian young person and is not sponsored by the school nor allowed at any school-related functions.  Exposure to movies, music, television, and literature should be carefully chosen and supervised by the parents in accordance with Philippians 4:8.

We want God's priorities to be our priorities - producing not just good kids, but godly kids.  We must be concerned not just about controlling behaviors but about impacting the students' hearts.

Biblical correction is instruction and discipline that uses the enduring Truth of Scripture to inform the heart and direct behavior.  It is internal, honestly goal-directed for the child's eternal benefit, producing fruit that endures, building character and godly values.  It is also process-oriented, requiring patience to be concerned for the long haul.
