I graduated from TCS in 1982 and currently reside in Madison, Mississippi with my darling wife, Susan, and our five kids - Zachary (14), Bethany (12), Benjamin (10), Joseph (9), and Abigail (7). We're members of Covenant Presbyterian Church where I have served as a Deacon and Elder and Susan has worked with the kids (Sunday School, Wednesday night, Vacation Bible School, and more). The kids all love to read and participate on a year-round swim team (www.msmakos.org). When Abigail was born with Spina Bifida, Susan started a state-wide support group for Spina Bifida families. She served as President for five years and is still active with some national efforts. She, Abigail and Zachary recently spent a day in Washington meeting with elected officials to advocate for increased funding for Spina Bifida research. We moved to Jackson in 1994 from Boston to help start a non-profit organization focused on business development and finance in the Mississippi Delta region. The company has grown to more than fifty employees and now includes a credit union with branches in Jackson, MS and New Orleans, LA. We have loan production offices across Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi providing affordable mortgages, consumer loans, and business loans to local residents and entrepreneurs.

We miss the mountains of VA but enjoy the warm weather of the deep south. I would love to hear from old friends.  Email:

Wanda Toms

Hello to all the family of TCS !

It does not seem like it could have been back in 1982 since our class walked on the platform of the pulpit of Timberlake Baptist Church and
received our diploma... For most of us, we would be departing and not knowing the directions our fellow classmates were going... I am still in Bedford and co owner of Bedford Mutual Insurance Agency. I have been there since graduating and enjoy my work. I am single and live in a brick dwelling on the original Toms Farm homeplace. I enjoy gardening, yard work and animals and taking a trip or vacation when I can. I am very grateful and thankful for the year at TCS and for the dedication and concern the faculty has there for their students. It is a family that cares and not just a school to get you thru. More kids today need what TCS has and what I was blessed to receive.
